ROSIE KAY is to perform her brand new duet, Double Points:K at this years Edinburgh Fringe.  Taking inspiration from the thrilling duet, Double Points:Two, a piece that delves deep into the consequences of two people sharing the same space by the Italian/Dutch partnership of Emio Greco and Peter C. Scholten, Rosie has created Double Points:K, an explosive, sensual and dynamic new duet which she will perform with co-star Morgan Cloud.

After collaborating with Emio Greco in Amsterdam in 2007, Rosie's new interpretation of the work, Double Points:K, is a modern style of dialogue between two choreographers.  Exploring the space within ourselves and the space between the performers in Double Point:K, Rosie takes the drive and careful development of Emio Greco's original work and splices it with her own unique movement vocabulary, creating a tension and opposition within the work.

Double Points:K is set to a clever combination of JS Bach and electronic music expertly mixed by music producer Ian Wallman (Kelvin Harris/Shakira and collaborator of Asylum).  This work unites the classical world with the modern, the International with the West Midlands, the beauty of dance with a hurricane of energy!

Double Points:K recently premiered to great acclaim at the Birmingham International Dance Festival:
"Double Points: K is full of tone and contrast.  It's finely structured, helped in no small part by Rosies choice of music, and while there are plenty of references to Greco and Sholtens piece, Kay has maintained her choreographic integrity, adding imagination and moments of great beauty of her own.  It may also be non-narrative, but they way the dance seems to come from inside suggests its full of meaning for the dancers and far from abstract.  Much of the duet is not only in unison, but performed in a way that indicates they are thinking and feeling as one; a complete synchronicity of body and mind. Double Points:K
Two dancers seem drawn together in a unique universe, delicately balanced on the edge of time and space.  Breaking free with an explosion of energy, the two find a new way to communicate, spiralling with split second timing around each other.  As the energy and pace grows the dancers seem to fly; elegantly at first and then strutting and rushing across the whole space.  The effort of this exquisite work is clearly seen - there is an honesty and truthfulness that conveys both the strain and the joy of both dancing and our existence.
