Tilly Webber
Tilly Webber was born in England and started her training at the Arts Educational School, Tring Park at the age of eleven. She then went onto graduate from London Contemporary Dance School in July 2007. From there she worked with the Michael Clarke Dance Company in the summer of 2007, working on Modern Masterpieces, The Stravinsky Project. She Also worked with Cordigo Dance Project in ‘Resolution” and ‘Evolution’ 2007-2008. From March last year Tilly started performing with C-12 Dance Theatre in 2008 and joined them again shortly this year for Dance Umbrella 2009, African Currents and has worked with other choreographers such as Dam Van Huynh and then Marc Brew at the British Fashion Awards 2008. Tilly then went onto work with Marc Brew Company for Spring/Summer 2009, touring his piece ‘Noctourne’ throughout the UK. She Joined Rosie Kay Dance Company in 2008, performing in SuperNova and this is her second piece with the Company.
Chris Vann
Chris started dance at the age of 17 at Stourbridge College of Arts, and also got involved with ‘Jigsaw Dance Theatre’ and ‘DCDC’ an all boys performance group and Advanced Performers Group as part of the ‘DAiR2’ project in Birmingham. In 2009 Chris completed a BA (Hons) in Dance Theatre at Laban, London, and was exposed to dancers from an international spectrum and a diversity of dance techniques taught from some of the world renowned Choreographers and Companies, including; Susan Sentler, Gary Lambert, Dam Van Huynh, Lyndsey McConville and Julia Gleich. During his time at Laban, Chris got involved in ‘FlatFeet Dance Company’ with Stacey Abalogun, where he worked on two pieces for the company, ‘Crunch!’ as part of the ‘Resolution Dance Festival ‘09’ at The Place and ‘Cause and Effect’ a dance film as part of Stacey Abalogun’s MA Choreography Studies at Laban which premiered at the Bonnie Bird Theatre. He also worked with Tom Dale and Matthias Sperling in his final year at Laban, and toured the works extensively throughout London Theatres, Colleges and Universities.
Chris Linda
Chris began training from a young age at The Murilova Ballet School, Dorset. He attended The Royal Ballet Associates from 1999 to 2004 and performed in the 2003 production of Cinderella with the company. At 14 he went on to train at Arts Educational School, Tring, whilst there he performed in English National Ballet’s Nutcracker (2004) and worked with choreographers including Michael Corder, Stewart Avon Arnold and Robert Cohan. He has performed principal roles with The National Youth Ballet, including the role of the Old Man in the production of The Old Man of Lochnagar (2007/2008), English National Operas Death in Venice (2009), and Neshima Dance Company’s Dancing in Tongues (2009). Film credits include Street Dance (2009). This is Chris’ debut for Rosie Kay Dance Company in 5 SOLDIERS – The Body is the Front Line and he would like thank his friends and family for their ongoing support.
Tomasz Moskal
Tomasz was born in Lodz and attended the Ballet School in Warsaw. He
has performed extensively as a soloist: with the Grand Opera in Lodz (1992-1994); Dance Theatre of Gdansk (1994-1995); and the Polish Dance Theatre Poznan (1995-2003), where he danced with Rosie Kay in Ewa Wycichowska’s ballet ‘Dangerous Liasons,’ where they performed and toured in the roles of Valmont and Madame de Trouvel. Tomasz then joined the Project of the Goethe Institute in collaboration between Germany and Poland (2000-2002). Between 2003-2006 he joined the Music Theatre in Poznan as a soloist, choreographer’s assistant and teacher of contemporary, yoga and body conditioning, before moving to Edinburgh in 2006. Tomasz has worked with such choreographers as Birgit Cullberg, Ewa Wycichowska, Mats Ek, Örjan Andersson, JensÖstberg, Melissa Monteros, Gray Veredon, Avi Kaiser, Joe Alter and legendary French choreographer Dominique Baguet. This is Tomasz’s first role with the Rosie Kay Dance Company.
Michael Spencely
Michael Spenceley originally from Middlesbrough, Michael won a Wayne Sleep Scholarship to study at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary dance were he was awarded a BA (Hons) in ballet and contemporary dance. During his time there he choreographed work witch toured to venues included the Royal Opera House and Move It Dance Festival at London Olympia. Since completing his studies Michael is an Associate Practitioner of the learning department of the Theatre Royal Newcastle Upon Tyne. Michael has worked with children’s theatre company on “5”, then with Protein Dance Company on “Happy Together” and “Dear Body”, and has also worked for Precarious Physical Theatre & Multimedia on “Anomie”, He has also worked for the BBC on behalf of The Wayne Sleep Foundation. Michael is delighted to be working with Rosie Kay Dance Company on 5 SOLDIERS- The Body Is The Frontline.
